Wedding Tip · During the Wedding

Let your hands relax

Small, comfortable movements can make a portrait feel more natural.

A bride rests her hands gently on a chair during a portrait.

When you are being photographed, notice whether you are gripping your bouquet or holding your hands tightly. Loosen your fingers, let your elbows soften and take a breath. Hold your flowers comfortably around your waist rather than pulling them up toward your face.

Your photographer can guide the small adjustments, including a slight turn of the hand or shoulder. You don’t need to memorize poses. A comfortable touch, a gently held hand or a relaxed bouquet gives the photograph room to feel like you.
