A familiar place. Time to settle in. A little direction when it helps, and room for the moments that happen on their own. We’ll make photographs that feel like your family.

What to expect.

Explore the photographs, then choose a date and place your booking deposit. We’ll talk through the setting, clothing and the people who matter most.
Settle in. Be yourselves.
We’ll meet, get comfortable and spend about an hour and a half to two hours making portraits—with a little direction and plenty of room for life to happen.
The best of your story.
I personally select and finish your strongest images, refining color, light, tone and every crop. Your finished gallery typically includes 50–150 images, sometimes more, depending on the session.
Your first look.
Within three to five days, you’ll receive a slideshow of 10–15 highlights—a first look at the photographs we made together.
Choose what you love.
After your slideshow, choose from three collections: five favorite digital images, ten favorites or every finished image in your gallery. Your booking deposit goes toward your collection.
Make it part of your home.
For books, wall portraits and custom artwork, I’ll guide you personally. We can even meet in your home to choose sizes and find the perfect place for each piece. Books and artwork are purchased separately.
A few things to know.
Where can we photograph our family?
At home, at the lake, or somewhere you already love. I photograph families in Chanhassen, Lake Minnetonka, Edina, Wayzata, Orono and throughout the Twin Cities. We can choose a setting together.
What should we wear?
Coordinate colors without dressing identically. Comfortable clothes, natural textures and quiet patterns keep the attention on you. Read the wardrobe and beautiful-light guide.
What if the weather changes?
We will discuss an alternate plan or reschedule when the weather will not give us the experience and photographs we want.
Can grandparents and pets join us?
Yes. The people—and animals—who belong in your family’s story are welcome. Tell me who is coming so we can plan for everyone.
How do we choose photographs and artwork?
After your session, you’ll see a considered selection of finished photographs and choose the collection that suits you. We can talk through digital images, prints, wall art and the book that brings your story together.

Every collection includes your two-hour portrait session and the print-store credit listed above. Your booking deposit is applied toward the collection price; the print-store credit is a separate benefit. The number of finished images varies with each session.
